Church of San Michele Arcangelo in Curti

In the heart of Curti we take you to the Church of San Michele Arcangelo, the parish dedicated to the town's patron saint. Its origins are ancient: as early as 1327 it appeared among the churches paying tithes to the church of Capua, while the construction is dated to 1561, as recalled by a marble plaque placed in 1961 to celebrate its fourth centenary. By the mid-18th century the parish already numbered over a thousand souls.We like pausing over the inscriptions kept in the church, small pages of local history: one recalls the cult of St Roch, invoked during a plague, another the passage of the urn of St Robert Bellarmine, Archbishop of Capua at the beginning of the 17th century.
