Parish church of the San Giovanni hamlet of Ceppaloni, of medieval origin, with a fresco of the Baptism of Christ on the ceiling.

In the San Giovanni hamlet of Ceppaloni stands the Church of San Giovanni Battista, already mentioned in 12th-century documents as the church of the ancient hamlet of San Giovanni in Pino. In 1687 it was a small rectangular chapel; in 1706 Cardinal Orsini consecrated a new Baroque altar and in the mid-18th century the building was enlarged to its present form. The single-nave interior welcomes us with statues of Our Lady of Sorrows and the Immaculate Conception at the sides of the high altar and, in the niches, those of St Lucy, St Vitus, St Philomena and other saints dear to local devotion. We look up to admire the ceiling with the fresco of the Baptism of Christ, by Rocco Pennino. Since 1945 it has been an independent parish.
