In Centurano, a district of Caserta, the Church of San Bartolomeo has medieval origins documented as early as 1178.

In the populous district of Centurano, in Caserta, stands the Church of San Bartolomeo, whose origins go back to the 12th century: it is already mentioned in a bull of Pope Alexander III of 1178. The façade is simple and harmonious, with a large light-stone doorway and a triangular pediment decorated with a stucco bas-relief, topped by a wide window. We love the bell tower, divided into three tiers and finished with a two-light window, which marks the skyline of the neighbourhood. We recommend going inside the single nave to admire the fine altar frontal and the marble altar table supported by small columns: intimate details that tell the long history of this small community on the edge of the provincial capital.
