The former entrance to the Caracciolo princes' hunting park, now a venue for major exhibitions in Avellino.

The Casina del Principe is a historic building in Avellino linked to the Caracciolo family: it was the entrance to the large park near the castle, the so-called Parco Donnico, the prince's hunting reserve full of deer, gardens and water features, which covered the area of today's Parco district. Sources place its construction between the late 16th and the 18th century.During restoration an older underground hypogeum came to light, adding to the charm of the place. Today the Casina is an exhibition centre that has hosted shows devoted to Caravaggio, Leonardo, Picasso and Andrea Pazienza. We suggest checking the exhibition calendar and combining the visit with the remains of the castle.
