The former seat of justice and archive of Lauro, with a two-storey façade and a clock turret.

In the centre of Lauro, the Palazzo della Mastrodattia owes its name to the "mastrodatti", the official who drew up official records: this is where justice was administered and the town archive was kept. Little is known of its distant origins, but for a long time it was a focal point of the village's civic life. The archive was destroyed on 30 April 1799 by French troops. We like the two-storey façade with balconies, marked by pilasters with capitals and crowned at the centre by a clock turret. We suggest pairing it with a walk towards Lancellotti Castle, which dominates the village.
