Museum of naïve painting in Palazzo Pignatelli, with works by Italian and foreign artists and murals around the town.

Set up in 1995 in the palace that belonged to the Pignatelli, lords of Lauro between 1547 and 1632, this museum is devoted to naïve painting. It displays works by Italian and foreign artists, especially Russian and Hungarian, which arrived through donations, bequests and loans from the artists themselves. We like the fact that the visit does not end in the rooms: many painters have decorated various corners of the town with murals, and an open-air trail presents about eighty of them. We recommend following it on foot to discover Lauro from a colourful and unusual angle.
