Medieval village that grew within walls with six towers, between Via Terra, the Vigna and the Carminiello.

As early as the 11th century the medieval village, called the Corpo della Terra di Lauro, was enclosed by walls. The citadel included the areas that today correspond to Via Terra, the Vigna and the Carminiello, and we like recognising its outline as we stroll through these streets. The fortification had six towers: one is still visible next to the town hall, while two others are incorporated into later buildings. Between the 14th and 16th centuries the village expanded, approaching its present shape: we recommend exploring it at a leisurely pace, starting from Piazza Castello.
