Museum in Palazzo Pignatelli devoted to Umberto Nobile's polar flights with the airships Norge and Italia.
Inside Palazzo Pignatelli, this museum tells the story of the exploits of Umberto Nobile, born in Lauro in 1885. Materials and memorabilia retrace the two adventurous North Pole expeditions of 1926 and 1928, aboard the airships Norge and Italia.On the same square, named after the aviator, you can also see his birthplace. We like taking advantage of the visit to admire the grotesque decorations from the second half of the 16th century, well preserved in the palace: we recommend not missing them.
