In the old Grain Customs House overlooking the Sabato, finds from ancient Abellinum and the Atripalda area.

On Atripalda's main square, overlooking the river Sabato, stands the Dogana dei Grani (Grain Customs House), a building linked to trade along the road to Apulia and for centuries the economic centre of the town, where grain arriving from Apulia was handled. Recognisable by its clock with two bells, today it is a cultural space that also hosts conferences and concerts. It is home to the archaeological museum, which gathers finds from excavations in Atripalda and from the Roman colony of Abellinum, which stood on the Civita plateau and was founded by Sulla. We suggest visiting it together with the Abellinum archaeological park, for a complete picture of the shared origins of Atripalda and Avellino.
