Science museum devoted to invertebrates, with a rich collection of molluscs including rare and extinct species.

Opened in 2002 on Corso Umberto, this museum takes us into the world of invertebrates, divided into three sections. It starts with sponges, cnidarians, arthropods, annelids, echinoderms and other less familiar groups, and leads to a section entirely devoted to molluscs. The malacological collection is among the richest in Campania and also holds vanished species, such as some tree snails from Madagascar, Madeira and Polynesia. We are also struck by the tentaculates, the only collection of its kind in the region. We recommend booking, as visits are by request.
