A 19th-century church in Trevico dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows, celebrated on the Tuesday after Pentecost.

Among the smaller churches of Trevico, the highest village in Campania, is the church of the Addolorata. The cultural heritage catalogue dates it to the 19th century, with a reference to 1833, and attributes it to Campanian craftsmen. It is an intimate building, linked to the community's Marian devotion. We suggest coming on the Tuesday after Pentecost, when the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows brings the processional rites into the streets. We then like to complete the visit by climbing to the cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, the old bishop's seat, and its crypt, to discover one of the most evocative historic centres in Irpinia.
