From medieval castle to palace of the Mancini family: the house where the jurist Pasquale Stanislao Mancini was born.

In Castel Baronia, the old castle of the Baronia, recorded as early as the 12th century, passed in the 16th century to the Mancini family, who over time turned it into a noble palace. The village's very name recalls the central role this fortress played in controlling the territory. This is where Pasquale Stanislao Mancini was born, the distinguished 19th-century jurist and politician and one of the best-known figures of Risorgimento Irpinia. We enjoy reading in the building its shift from defensive structure to lordly residence: we suggest taking a good look at it as you stroll through the centre of the village.
