From 13 to 15 November Caserta's Teatro Comunale Costantino Parravano stages Jucatùre, the Neapolitan version of Jugadors by Catalan playwright Pau Miró, translated, adapted and directed by Enrico Ianniello.
Four middle-aged men meet around a table for yet another card game: an out-of-work actor, a barber, a maths teacher and a gravedigger. Between hands, failures, small dreams, rough friendships and an unexpected tenderness come to the surface. On stage are Antonio Milo, Adriano Falivene, Marcello Romolo and Giovanni Allocca, actors raised in the great Neapolitan theatre tradition, who carry the Catalan text into a lively, musical language.
We recommend it to anyone who enjoys actor-driven theatre, funny and melancholic at once, as part of the season built by the city of Caserta with Teatro Pubblico Campano.
