18th-century chapel dedicated to St Joseph at Atena Scalo, below the village of Atena Lucana.

In the lower part of the territory of Atena Lucana, at Atena Scalo, stands the Chapel of San Giuseppe, an 18th-century building. It is a small church that shows how places of worship also existed on the plain, beside the Vallo di Diano's routes.We like discovering these minor buildings, which tell of popular devotion and the history of local families. We suggest combining the visit with a climb up to the historic centre of Atena Lucana, where the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore and the view over the valley await.
