Bishop's Palace of Sessa Aurunca

In the historic centre of Sessa Aurunca, a short distance from the cathedral, stands the bishop's palace, which the cultural heritage catalogue classes as late-Gothic and places around the 14th century. It is a sober building, with a massive tuff masonry structure on two floors, its main façade facing Via Delio.We like its simplicity: no showy decoration, but compact volumes and a pitched roof covered with terracotta tiles, in the best local building tradition. We suggest viewing it from outside during a stroll between the cathedral and the nearby streets, where many charming late-medieval palaces survive.
