Medieval Aqueduct of Salerno
L'acquedotto longobardo con gli archi ogivali, chiamato «ponti del diavolo».
Villa · Salerno (SA)

A white late 19th-century Liberty villa, also called Casa Iannone, overlooking Salerno with terraces and a panoramic turret.
Looking up from Salerno it is hard to miss: Villa Agata, also known as Casa Iannone, has dominated the city with its unmistakable white silhouette since the late 19th century. It stands on the left side of the Canalone valley and is a fine example of eclectic and Liberty taste, which according to scholars also inspired the later Palazzo Barone. The villa combines a horizontal three-level block, set on a podium of terraces turned into gardens, with a massive turret facing the Amalfi Coast. We recommend looking at the details from the street: the central balcony, the French and Roman-style balconies, the small loggia and the polychrome frieze marking the top floor. It can be admired from outside.
