A square 16th-century watchtower on the Capo di Conca headland, now used as a museum.

Also called the Saracen Tower or White Tower, this 16th-century watchtower dominates the Capo di Conca headland. It was commissioned by the viceroy of Naples Pedro de Toledo to defend the coast from Turkish raids. It was built on a square plan, because at the time the strength of round towers was doubted.Inside there is a single large hall, with two small rooms above for the guards. After the battle of Lepanto it lost its function and until 1949 it was even used as a small cemetery. Restored by the municipality, it is now a museum. We like its somewhat romantic charm: we recommend going up to admire the sea from above.
