A karst cave flooded by the sea, famous for the emerald-green reflections of its water and its underwater nativity scene.

The Emerald Grotto is a large karst cave partly flooded by the sea, about 45 metres long and more than 20 high. Its name comes from the colour of the water: sunlight enters through an underwater fissure connecting it to the open sea and tints it an incredible emerald green. We like staying silent and watching these reflections.Inside, stalactites and stalagmites merge into columns some ten metres high. From the Amalfi coast road you go down to the boarding point by lift or on foot by a staircase. On the seabed, since 1956, there has been a ceramic underwater nativity scene: we recommend looking out for it during the visit.
