Museum · Caserta (CE)

An industrial archaeology tour among restored, still-working looms, silk-throwing machines and the San Leucio silk spinning mill.
Inside the San Leucio complex, this museum takes us into a true example of industrial archaeology. Room after room we encounter the instruments and tools used to produce and work silk, presented in a concrete and engaging way.Above all we like the restored looms, still in working order, and the large water wheel that drove the silk-throwing machines and can be set in motion for demonstrations. The visit is completed by an exhibition of fabrics, the cocoon room and the spinning mill. We recommend this stop with youngsters too, who are fascinated by the moving mechanisms.
