Pompeii's gate towards the sea, with two passages for pedestrians and animals.
Porta Marina opens on the western side of the city, on the road that led down to the harbour. It has two arches: a narrower one for pedestrians and a wider one for pack animals.Today it is one of the main entrances to the excavations: from here you climb up towards the Forum, passing by the Temple of Venus.
