The museum inside the Pompeii excavations, with finds, frescoes and casts of the victims.
The Antiquarium is near Porta Marina, at the entrance to the excavations. It tells the story of Pompeii from its Samnite origins to the eruption of AD 79.On display are frescoes, objects from everyday life, silverware and some casts of the victims. It is a good starting point for understanding the city before you visit it.
