Benevento's Roman bridge over the river Sabato, along the route of the Via Appia.

The Ponte Leproso is one of the oldest Roman bridges in Campania. It carried the Via Appia across the river Sabato, at the entrance to Benevento. Its name comes from a leper hospital that stood nearby in the Middle Ages. The bridge has been altered over the centuries, but it keeps its stone arches and can be crossed on foot.
