Palazzo Bevere

In the centre of Ariano Irpino, next to the former church of San Francesco d'Assisi, stands Palazzo Bevere-Gambacorta, a building dating from the early 18th century. Like many of the town's noble palaces, it recalls the era when the most prominent families left their mark on the urban fabric of the "three-hill" town.Today the palace has a new life: it houses a university site and, since 2023, the Museum of Norman Civilisation, devoted to early medieval finds, writings, weapons and coins. We suggest including it in a walking itinerary through the historic centre, perhaps together with the cathedral and the Norman castle.
