MAC3 Museum of Contemporary Art of Caserta

In the centre of Caserta this museum, opened in 2008, holds a permanent collection born from two groups of works: a first set donated in 2001 and a second made up of works the artists themselves gave on the occasion of the opening. We like the idea of a museum that grew thanks to the generosity of those who create.Artists from the Rome area predominate, alongside artists from the Caserta area and two painters from Belgrade trained in Rome. Walking through the rooms we recognise echoes of Pop Art, Neo-Dada and Conceptual Art, American Hyperrealism and socially engaged art. We recommend a visit if you enjoy discovering the lesser-known contemporary art scene.
