17th-century palace of the di Mauro family in Castel Morrone, enlarged after they became Dukes of Morrone in 1662, now owned by the municipality.

The Ducal Palace tells the story of the rise of the di Mauro family, who in 1662 obtained the title of Dukes of Morrone. To celebrate this achievement, Onofrio di Mauro had the newest part of the building constructed at the start of the second half of the 17th century, giving the palace the appearance of a true noble residence.Today the palace is owned by the municipality and is one of the landmarks of the centre of Castel Morrone. We recommend including it in a tour of the village together with the parish church and its tall bell tower, before climbing up to Monte Castello, the hill that dominates the area and preserves the memory of the 1860 battle.
