Church · Quadrelle (AV)

A late 16th-century church in Quadrelle, built in 1599 where the village's historic streets meet.
In the small centre of Quadrelle, at the foot of Monte Partenio, the church of the Santissima Annunziata was built in 1599, at the same time as a masonry aqueduct shared with nearby Mugnano. It stands at the junction of the village's oldest streets, next to the church of the Assunta, and keeps the imprint of a late 16th-century building. We like the bond between this church and the village's history: Quadrelle's coat of arms still bears the initials A.G.P., for Ave Gratia Plena, the motto of the Santa Casa dell'Annunziata of Naples, the village's last feudal lord. We suggest continuing the walk to Palazzo Pagano and its garden, the architectural jewel of the centre.
