Church of Santi Nazario e Celso in Frignano
- Visit: about 20 min
Parish church in the heart of Frignano, dedicated to the patron saints Nazarius and Celsus, whose cult is recorded locally as early as the 10th century.
The Church of Santi Nazario e Celso is Frignano's central place of worship and is dedicated to the two martyrs who are the town's patron saints. It is one of the town's parishes and the focal point of the community's religious life, in the heart of the Aversa countryside. We like to recall that a document of 988 already mentions a church of San Nazario in the territory of Frignano, then linked to the monastery of San Lorenzo in Capua: a sign of truly ancient devotion. We recommend visiting during the celebrations for the patron saints, when the town gathers around its main church.
