Trentola-Ducenta's mother church of 1614, dedicated to its patron St Michael, with a triptych attributed to Crivelli.
The Church of San Michele Arcangelo is the mother church of Trentola and the seat of the patron saint's parish. It was built in 1614 and consecrated in 1723 by the Bishop of Caserta; it has a single nave with a dome in front of the presbytery.We like the early 16th-century triptych attributed to Crivelli, with St John, the Madonna enthroned and St Michael, and the wooden statue of the archangel made by Florentine craftsmen. We suggest visiting for the patronal feast on the second Sunday of May, which commemorates the saint's first apparition.
