A church at the highest point of Luogosano, with an austere façade and one of the finest views over the Calore valley.

The church of Santa Maria della Pietà stands at the highest point of Luogosano. It has a sober, austere façade, accompanied by a slender bell tower that can be recognised from afar. It is a place very dear to popular devotion, intimate and peaceful, where you breathe the simple atmosphere of Irpinia's small villages.We like climbing up here above all for the view: from the churchyard opens one of the finest panoramas over the village and the Calore valley, with cultivated hills all around. We suggest getting there on foot through the historic centre, perhaps in the late afternoon, when the light makes the landscape even more evocative.
