The Church of Sant'Andrea Apostolo overlooks Nansignano, a small hamlet of Frasso Telesino, from above. Beneath its floor lies the old cemetery, and at the entrance an inner gallery survives that once housed a large pipe organ. We like reaching it by climbing between the houses of the village, which keeps an intimate, unhurried atmosphere.Around the church you come across two votive shrines, one dedicated to the Madonna and a more recent one to St Pio of Pietrelcina. Behind the building, the quarter was once closed at night by two gates and an old wooden door. We recommend ending the walk at the village's old fountain trough, where clothes were washed and animals watered.
