Dugenta's archpriest's church, consecrated around 1112, with a tuff bell tower and frescoes brought to light by restoration.

The archpriest's Church of Sant'Andrea Apostolo is Dugenta's main place of worship and has an ancient history. According to tradition it was consecrated around 1112 by Pope Paschal II, and a few decades later, in 1160, it is said to have hosted a pontiff travelling to Benevento. We like the portal framed by pilasters and the tuff bell tower, added at a later date. The building has recently been restored and inside we recommend looking for the frescoes that tell of its past. Combine the visit with the small hexagonal church in the San Nicola hamlet and the rural chapel of Santa Maria in Pesole.
