Church · Baia e Latina (CE)

Three-aisled parish church in the San Vito quarter of Baia, with 18th-century origins and an appearance shaped by late 19th-century works.
In the old town of Baia, in the quarter that bears its name, stands the parish Church of San Vito Martire, now in the diocese of Alife-Caiazzo. Its origins are dated to the 18th century, while the present building is catalogued as a late 19th-century work, with the date 1891. Over time numerous restorations have altered its original appearance. The church has a rectangular plan with a nave and two aisles, limestone walls and a brick roof. We like its bond with the quarter, of which it is the everyday point of reference. We recommend visiting it during a stroll through the alleys of Baia, a hill village of medieval layout dominated by the remains of its castle.
