In the centre of Perdifumo, in hilly Cilento, stands the collegiate church of St Sixtus II, Pope and Martyr, the town's main church and the heart of the community's religious life. Its origins date back to the 16th century, and over time the building has been enriched with fine furnishings and works.Inside, we suggest lingering over the finely worked 18th-century altar, the 17th-century holy water stoup and the 17th-century statue of the Madonna of the Rosary; the walls are decorated with 20th-century frescoes. We like rounding off the visit by strolling through the village lanes, overlooking the hills that slope down to the sea.
