Convent of Santa Maria della Pietà in Vatolla
- Visit: about 30 min

Franciscan convent from 1619 built around an old chapel with a fresco believed to be miraculous, in the hamlet of Vatolla.
In the hamlet of Vatolla in Perdifumo, the convent of Santa Maria della Pietà was founded in 1619 on land that the local community donated to the Franciscans. The friars restored the structure of an old chapel known as the Pietà, where a fresco believed to be miraculous was deeply venerated.Suppressed during the French Decade, the convent reopened in 1815 after major renovation works. We like discovering its architectural and artistic features and above all the old chapel, the original heart of the complex. We recommend combining it with a stroll through the alleys of Vatolla.
