Church of San Michele Arcangelo in Bellosguardo

In the heart of Bellosguardo, an Alburni village overlooking the Calore valley, stands the Church of San Michele Arcangelo, the mother church and only parish of the village. Devotion to the Archangel has ancient roots here: old parchments already mention local churches dedicated to the saint in the 14th and early 15th centuries.Once inside, we suggest looking for the three frescoes by the Salerno painter Pasquale Avallone that enrich the interior. We like combining the visit with a stroll through the historic centre and, if you have time, a stop in the greenery of the Bosco Macchia, just outside the village.
