18th-century church dominating the square of Roscigno Vecchia, the abandoned Alburni village, rebuilt in 1770.

On the main square of Roscigno Vecchia, the Alburni village abandoned by its inhabitants between 1902 and 1908 because of landslides, stands the Church of San Nicola di Bari. It was entirely rebuilt in 1770, reusing the remains of the previous building destroyed by a landslide. We are moved to see it still standing, the heart of a village frozen in time, with stone houses, palaces and the great fountain all around. We suggest visiting at leisure, letting the silence of the village guide you, and rounding off the day with the museum of peasant life and a walk in the surroundings, in the Cilento National Park.
