A baronial palace of Norman origin, remodelled in the 16th-17th centuries, with a round entrance tower and remains of the walls.

The baronial castle of Sant'Angelo a Fasanella was built in Norman times on a rocky spur, protected by walls, towers and a moat. Between the 16th and 17th centuries it was turned into a noble residence, so that today it looks mainly like a palace. From the medieval phase remain the buttresses on the north side and some stretches of wall, with a square tower. The building is closed and bears the marks of the 1980 earthquake: it can be admired from outside. We recommend pausing at the entrance, defended by a round tower with a sloping base and loopholes for firearms. Sources say that inside are rooms for making oil and wine and a reception hall with a small chapel and an altar, decorated with frescoes and wallpaper with plant motifs.
