A small museum-laboratory with grave goods, vases, weapons and bronzes from excavations of the ancient settlement of Monte Pruno.

The ancient indigenous settlement of Monte Pruno was an important crossroads in trade between the Greeks of the coast and the communities of the Vallo di Diano. It reached its peak between the 6th and 5th centuries BC, as the rich grave goods show; with the arrival of the Lucanians in the 4th century, the plateau was enclosed by a mighty wall of local limestone. In Roscigno this heritage is presented in a museum-laboratory, designed to share research results with the public as excavations and studies proceed. We recommend looking closely at the grave goods, storage jars, weapons and bronze objects: we like the idea of a museum that grows together with research.
