Church of San Lorenzo in San Lorenzello

The Church of San Lorenzo is the parish church of San Lorenzello, in the Titerno valley. The old Romanesque parish church, damaged in 1688, was razed by the 1805 earthquake; after the suppression of the Carmelites, the parish moved into their church, enlarged between 1886 and 1893.Of the Carmelite church the façade survives, with a stone portal bearing the papal coat of arms and the Marian monogram. The single-nave interior holds in the apse the old icon of the Madonna del Carmine and the statue of St Lawrence, the village's patron saint.
