In Palazzo Sant'Antonio in Cerreto Sannita, the museum tells centuries of Cerreto ceramics, from the old blues to contemporary works.

If there is one place to understand the soul of Cerreto Sannita, it is the Civic Museum and Museum of Cerreto Ceramics, established in 1993 and opened in 1995 in Palazzo Sant'Antonio. The vaulted rooms, the large cellar and the cloister house the most representative pieces of a production that flourished above all after the 1688 earthquake, with figures such as Nicolò Russo and his workshop. We like the albarelli in the characteristic Cerreto blue, the amphorae, the wedding plates and curious objects such as an inkwell and a pipe from the Real Fabbrica di San Carlo. In 2012 the Mazzacane Collection was added, with over two hundred pieces. We recommend ending the visit in the cloister, where since 2014 there has been a section of contemporary ceramics with works donated by artists from the biennials.
