Parish church of Gallo Matese with a late Baroque façade and a violin-shaped window, holding five 18th-century altars.
In the old town of Gallo Matese, on Piazza Indipendenza, stands the Church of the Ave Gratia Plena. A place of worship is documented here from 1642, on the site of an even older votive chapel, while the late Baroque façade dates from the end of the 18th century. We like the curious violin-shaped window, the building's true distinguishing feature, reached by an external stone staircase.The interior has a single nave, with a marble floor in panels and stucco with geometric motifs. We recommend looking at the five altars of the Neapolitan school, four in the side chapels and the main one in the apse, attributed to a stonemason from Gallo itself. On the triumphal arch, a fresco decoration with floral motifs bears the text of the Ave Maria.
