Castello Pandone in Prata Sannita, a rectangular Angevin fortress with four cylindrical towers, now home to small museums.
Over the upper part of Prata Inferiore looms Castello Pandone, whose present form dates from the 14th century, when the Pandone counts enlarged and fortified it following the models of Angevin military architecture. It has a rectangular plan around a courtyard and four cylindrical towers at the corners.We suggest looking at the base of the Small Tower for the old prison, where inmates carved suns, flowers and birds, and for the remains of the walkway that linked the main towers. Today the rooms house three small museums: on the two World Wars, on peasant and craft life, and on ceramics. We like climbing the stone ramps from the entrance on Via Portelle.
