The ruins of the medieval castle on Monte Solaro in Anacapri, above Villa San Michele.

The castle takes its name from the corsair Khair ad-Din, known as Barbarossa, who attacked Capri in the 16th century. The fortress was older and defended the island against landings.Today its ruins remain on the slope above Villa San Michele. The area is an observation site for migratory birds and can be visited with a guide on set days.
