Ignazio Cerio Museum
- Visit: about 1 h 30 min

Over twenty thousand archaeological, natural history and palaeontological finds collected by Ignazio Cerio to tell the story of Capri.
In the centre of Capri this museum holds over twenty thousand finds collected by Ignazio Cerio between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, during his explorations of the island or through exchanges and donations with scholars from all over the world. We like the idea of a collection born from the curiosity of a single enthusiast. After the founder's death in 1921, the collections were rearranged by the naturalist Raffaello Bellini at the wish of his son Edwin, who also designed the display cabinets. From the late 1990s the archaeological, natural history and palaeontological collections were reorganised, and in 2000 the museum opened with four themed rooms. We recommend visiting it before exploring the island.
