The temple of Isis commissioned by Emperor Domitian in Benevento, with its Egyptian statues in the Museo del Sannio.

Benevento had a great temple dedicated to the Egyptian goddess Isis, built in the time of Emperor Domitian, in the 1st century AD.The building itself has not survived, but many statues and sculptures in Egyptian style have, including sphinxes and the statue of the Apis bull. They are displayed in the Museo del Sannio and form one of the most important Egyptian collections in Italy.
