Benevento's 2nd-century AD Roman theatre, still used for performances in summer.

The theatre was built in the time of Emperor Hadrian and enlarged shortly afterwards. It preserves much of the seating area and the outer arches, and is one of the best-preserved Roman theatres in southern Italy. In summer it comes back to life with concerts and shows. It lies in the historic centre, a short walk from the cathedral.
