In the centre of Puglianello, the barons' castle in yellow tuff with four cylindrical corner towers.
In the centre of the small village of Puglianello rises the barons' castle, a building with an almost square plan and a cylindrical tower at each corner, with battered bases. It is built of yellow tuff, the stone typical of the area, and retains an old portico around the inner courtyard.The fief, independent from the 15th century, passed between several families; after the plague of 1656 the village was left almost deserted and a deed of 1702 records the baron's house as partly in ruins. Today the castle has been renovated several times and is divided into private homes, so we like to admire it from the outside. We recommend a walk around the walls to appreciate its towers.
