Salerno's first earthquake-resistant reinforced concrete building, built in 1920-1924, where Jews were hidden during the war.

In Salerno, Palazzo D'Ambrosio was the first building in the city constructed in reinforced concrete to earthquake-resistant standards, between 1920 and 1924.It takes its name from Carlino D'Ambrosio, mayor of Campagna, who funded it. During the Second World War he gave shelter here to some Jews who had escaped from the internment camp: a story of courage worth remembering.
