Medieval Aqueduct of Salerno
L'acquedotto longobardo con gli archi ogivali, chiamato «ponti del diavolo».
Museum · Salerno (SA)

Open-air museum in the Fornelle district, where poems and thoughts by great 20th-century writers are written on the walls of the houses.
Muri d'Autore is a permanent open-air museum that has transformed the Fornelle district, the oldest and most working-class quarter of Salerno's historic centre. The idea is simple and beautiful: using poetry to bring new life to public spaces and improve the quality of everyday life. We love it because here art isn't shut away in a gallery, but accompanies the steps of those who live in and walk through the neighbourhood.Poems and reflections by the leading 20th-century poets have been written on the façades of the buildings, along the arches and near the gardens. We recommend getting lost in the alleys without hurrying, reading the verses that appear at every corner: it's a different and very moving way to discover the ancient heart of the city.
