Small theatre from the late 2nd century BC in the Foce area, built on the hillside following Hellenistic models.

In the Foce area of Sarno lies a small gem of antiquity: the Hellenistic-Roman theatre, built at the end of the 2nd century BC. It was part of an older sanctuary located outside the city, in an area that still retains a strong sacred character. We love its setting: the builders made use of the slope of the hill to achieve a scenic effect, following the typical models of Hellenistic architecture. We recommend combining the visit with the nearby sanctuary of Santa Maria della Foce and the springs of the river.
